Big C is going bigger than ever this year, as 2010 sees Norfolk and Waveney's own cancer charity celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Here at Cozens-Hardy LLP we are delighted to have signed up to help Big C make this year a record-breaking year - by becoming one of their corporate '30 for 30' partners.
As one of thirty local companies pledging our support, we have undertaken to raise £5,000 for Big C. So that means we need to come up with some pretty big ideas to generate these much needed funds, and we're getting there!
Head of our Residential Property department, Philippa Rudd bolts on her running shoes for the world's oldest marathon, Boston, in April and has also signed up to the Norfolk Super Hero challenge in June – a seemingly torturous event comprising of a one mile open water swim, five mile kayak, 40 mile cycle and seven mile run. Attempting to keep up with her is Private Client Principal Alistair Sursham, who has declared 'Challenge Alistair', a race between Alistair in his canoe and his challengers on foot between two points on the River Yare. It's about four miles with a welcoming pub at the end – so if you fancy your own mini Super Hero event, why not let us know and be one of the first to 'Challenge Alistair'.
We have lots of other plans in the proverbial pipeline and we'll update you as soon as they are confirmed. In the meantime, don't forget that you can contribute to the cause via the justgiving widget on this page.
Since 1980, Big C has raised over £15 million which has been used to fund equipment, care, support and research for those affected by cancer in Norfolk and Waveney. We really are delighted to be part of this terrific '30 for 30' fund raising initiative and hope that our many friends and supporters will do what they can for this most worthwhile charity.
