2011 Moveable Feast
Norwich legal firm Cozens-Hardy LLP will be the official sponsors of this year’s Moveable Feast.
The Moveable Feast, which sees hundreds of diners eat three courses at three venues, will be returning to Norwich on September 20th.
This year, diners will be able to enjoy the hospitality of 15 of Norwich’s finest restaurants, including: Mackintosh’s Canteen, St Giles House, Brasteds at Dragon Hall, Roger Hickman’s, St Benedicts, Figaro, Farmer Brown’s, The Library, Pinocchio’s, Wine Press@Wensum at the Maid’s Head Hotel, City College Catering School; Tatlers and The Dining Rooms at Cinema City.
The 2011 event, which is part of the EDP Bidwells Norfolk Food Festival, is being sponsored by Norwich-based solicitors Cozens-Hardy.
The Moveable Feast raises money for Parkinson’s UK in memory of the event’s founder, leading restaurateur and former county councillor Lloyd Addison.
Philippa Rudd, Marketing Principal at Cozens-Hardy, said :‘People are more aware than ever of the provenance of their food. As a local firm of solicitors which has been fortunate enough to work with many generations of Norfolk based farming families, firms and individuals, we recognise the value in keeping business local.
‘We are genuinely delighted to support the Moveable Feast this year and we look forward to helping raise vital funds for Parkinson’s UK.’
Nick De’Ath, who organises the Moveable Feast, said: ‘It's great to have such a well-known legal name as Cozens-Hardy backing the Moveable Feast.
‘We are aiming to get 700 participants this year as we look to raise as much money as possible for Parkinson's UK. The sponsorship support from Cozens-Hardy means that more money from the night will go directly to the charity.
‘Since the inaugural feast in 1999, the event has become a popular feature of the city’s annual calendar and a highlight of the Norfolk Food Festival.’
Last year, £5,340 was donated to Parkinson’s UK to help continue their ground-breaking research into the cause and improved treatment of the condition.
Carol Stork, regional fundraiser for Parkinson’s UK, said: ‘Discovery of a cure for the symptoms of Parkinson’s is the hope of over 1600 people living with the condition across Norfolk.
‘Participants in The Moveable Feast have already helped us to uncover more about the causes of Parkinson’s and to shed light on potential new avenues of treatment.
‘We hope that this year’s Feast, with the generous support of Cozens-Hardy, will help bring us even closer to a breakthrough.’
Tickets for the Moveable Feast cost £34 per person. For further details and booking information, visit www.moveablefeastnorwich.org or call 01603 617269. The evening starts at 6pm.
