Commercial Landlords - know your rights!

Partner Dan Evans considers your rights as a landlord if your tenant wants to leave…

As it has been well publicised in the press, times are tough. Well-established operators are taking the decision to close shops, leaving landlords in potentially tricky positions. In Norwich, high profile operators such as Toys R Us and Jamie’s Italian have taken decisions to close their doors.  With some tenants looking to leave, landlords need to know their rights.

2018 Norfolk Business Awards

The annual Norfolk Business awards celebrate the very best of our county's companies and the people who drive them. We were very pleased to sponsor the Small Business award this year, which was won by Indigo Swan.

You can click on the image to read the full Awards supplement. And we echo the words of John Dye, managing director of the Business of the Year, who confessed that seeing so many wonderful Norfolk businesses had been 'eye-opening'.

Well done to all the category winners!

Environmental, Social and Governance Policy

Environmental, Social and Governance Policy (ESG) may not crop up in most people’s daily conversations, but it is something which is relevant to all of us, in one way or another.

ESG looks at the question of sustainability and the ethical and social impact of any investment. Properties which are let to tenants who fall short of the ESG principles could have a lower valuation than other properties which have a high ESG rating. Companies can create value simply by increasing their ESG score.

Could a Life Interest Trust Will help safeguard against care home fees?

The advancement of medicine coupled with the fact that our population is living longer than ever makes the topic of care home fees and later life planning essential.

We are sponsoring the Norfolk Business Awards!

We thoroughly enjoy and value our work with SMEs (small to medium sized enterprises) in the region - so it seemed highly appropriate that the firm should sponsor the Small Business of the year category of this year's Norfolk Business Awards.
